Frequently Asked Questions

What ages and subjects do you work with?

We work with students in math and science beginning at 5th grade and are qualified to tutor at any level through many college courses. For ELA, we offer select tutoring to younger students, as well as middle and high school students looking for help with reading, writing and language.

Where does tutoring take place?

Our tutors can meet your student at your house, in a public place such as the library, or remotely, online.

What level of commitment do I need to make?

We prefer to take on students who can make a commitment to weekly lessons for at least one semester (half school year). That being said, we try to be flexible with taking on students who have more short-term needs for tutoring. Students who have made semester-long commitments are always prioritized when scheduling.

What days and times do you offer tutoring?

Our tutors have available times throughout the week (M-F) during the day and after school. Typically our after school slots between 3:30 and 8:00 PM fill up the fastest.

What schools have you worked with students from?

We have experience working with students from Sinagua, MEMS, FJA, NPA and Basis at the middle school level; Flagstaff High, Coconino, NPA, and Basis at the high school level. We also have experience working with homeschool students at the middle and high levels. At the university level we have worked extensively with Northern Arizona University and Coconino Community College students from all majors and disciplines.

How much should I expect to spend?

Our rates are charged hourly, so the overall bill will depend on frequency and length of lessons. Most students typically do a single, one-hour lesson per week. However, our tutors can offer more time if we can fit it into their schedule. Please contact us directly to get specific information on hourly rates and payment options.

Can I use ESA funds to hire a tutor?

Yes! We are excited to be a Direct Pay Vendor for the Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account. If you have been approved for ESA funds you may pay using them. Please reach out to us if you have more questions about the ESA and how to get approved for funds.

How do you select your tutors?

All of our tutors go through a screening and interview process to make sure that they are qualified to teach in their subjects as well as understand the teaching philosophy behind Einstein Tutoring. If a tutor does not show us that they understand relationship-based, one-on-one education, they will not be hired.

All of our tutors have passed an Arizona Department of Public Safety Background Check and received a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
